Former Argentina World Cup star Pablo Cavallero charged with manslaughter after fatal car crash

FORMER Argentina star Pablo Cavallero has been charged with manslaughter after his involvement in a fatal car crash.

The 26-cap international goalkeeper - who spent much of his career in Spain - hit 57-year-old Juan Rivero with his Volkswagen Tiguan on Route 2 near Etcheverry in Argentina.

Ambulances rushed to the scene from a nearby tollbooth, but Rivero died at the scene.

Police confiscated Cavallero's car pending an investigation into the cause of the accident.

But reports in Argentina claim Cavallero has been charged with manslaughter for his part in the crashh.
