Ben Brereton Diaz dedicated the win to Blackburn Rovers supporters after scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 triumph over Preston North End.
Brereton's 17th league goal of the campaign helped Rovers to chalk up their sixth victory in the last eight league matches and retain fourth spot in the Championship standings.
It was a resilient showing from Tony Mowbray's side, who battled against the unpleasant conditions to overcome their local rivals with a courageous second-half performance.
Brereton was one who lead the celebrations at the full-time whistle and the 22-year-old shared his delight as Rovers made it three consecutive victories.
"That one was for the fans," Brereton beamed. "It was a brilliant atmosphere today, we're just buzzing that we got the three points for you. Come on Rovers!"
His captain Darragh Lenihan echoed Brereton's thoughts, saying: "I enjoyed that one today. Great team performance in tough conditions and the fans were amazing again."
Reda Khadra said: "Great team effort! Huge win. The atmosphere was once again unbelievable today."
Ryan Nyambe added: "Derby day win! Fans were amazing as always!"
And it was even better for midfielder Joe Rothwell, who posted: "What an end to the week! New addition to the family on Tuesday, derby day win on the Saturday."
