The Lake District will be the centre of attention when five of its campsites feature in new Channel 4 TV show, The Perfect Pitch.

So while the 'what exactly is a staycation?' discussion rumbled on in the background over summer, three couples packed up and hit the road in their campers and motorhomes to visit Cumbria.

Over five episodes, airing Monday to Friday and starting at 5.30pm on Monday (September 27), a different campsite will feature each day, with the six campers sampling what they have to offer, on and off-site.

At the end of the week the campers will pick which location should take the Perfect Pitch regional title.

A new region will be visited each week.

The Lake Distinct campsites have been chosen for a variety of reasons, from stunning views to offering private beaches, adventure pursuits or spa facilities and all will be hoping to receive a five-star rating from their guests.

Here's the campsites set to appear on the programme, which is narrated by Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page:

Low Sizergh Farm, Kendal - Monday, September 27

The new series begins at the site located on an award-winning working farm, where campers get the opportunity to milk cows, before harvesting before harvesting greens and flowers on a trip to Sizergh Castle.

Viewers will also see them dip in the lake and take part in a team raft building activity at Fell Foot on Windermere.

Park Foot Holiday Park, Ullswater - Tuesday, September 28

Located in the heart of the Lake District, this park also offers log cabins and self catering cottages, alongside pitches for tents, motorhomes and touring caravans.

In this episode, the six campers learn to paddle board and wake surf, while taking in the scenery on an Ullswater Steamer.

Burns Farm Keswick - Wednesday, September 29

This episode will see campers bike ride along a route featuring local landmarks, a hike and high-wire adventure.

Burns Farm is set in the beautiful Valley St-Johns-in-the-Vale and boasts epic views in any direction.

Baystone Bank, Millom - Thursday, September 30

Situated in the South West corner of the Lake District National Park, Baystone Bank is close to the beach and is also a working fell farm.

It's peaceful and idyllic but the campers enjoy some time offsite in this episode, taking a steam train tour in the nearby Eskdale Valley and ride horseback thanks to the campsite's Cumbrian heavy horses stables.

Skelwith Fold, Ambleside - Friday, October 1

The last episode of the week in the Lakes was filmed in Ambleside on the tip of Windermere.

The campers learn some circus skills, visit the home of one of the Lake District’s most famous authors and take a row boat ride on Coniston Water.
