Firefighters are tackling a blaze at an industrial estate in Wigan.
Around 400 vehicles are said to be involved in the fire, which took hold at the Kirkless Industrial Estate, in Aspull, in the early hours of Saturday morning (November 14).
Residents are being asked to keep their doors and windows closed as smoke is billowing from the site.
Motorists are also being asked to stay away and keep streets clear to allow access for emergency services vehicles.
Cale Lane is currently blocked off due to the building fire and smoke blowing across the road.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) were called to reports of a fire at 5.45am.
Teams using eight fire engines from Wigan, Leigh, Atherton, Salford, Bolton, Stockport and Rochdale are working to bring the blaze under control.
Firefighters are using six jets and one spray plate as well as specialist appliances - the Stinger and the Scorpion - to fight the fire.
GMFRS said crews are also working with local partners to “reduce the environmental impact of the fire”.
“The incident is in the process of being scaled back,” they said.
“Firefighters remain at the scene while they work to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
“Local residents are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed at this time due to the large quantity of smoke issuing from the fire.”
