Businesses and shoppers were greeted by a scene of carnage on Saturday morning after a gate caught fire in a city centre street.
Earlier Storey Street was cordoned off as fire crews tackled the blaze in Storey Street opposite the Wilberforce Health Centre.
A gate in the passage way between a pharmacy and a tattoo studio was well alight when firefighters arrived and they spent nearly two hours at the scene containing the blaze.

Thankfully, none of the adjacent properties have been affected but the passageway is badly damaged.
George Tuziks, owner of the nearby Heaven cafe, said: "I came in this morning and saw the cordons and road closed around 8am. I wasn’t aware of the fire but hope all is ok."
Another business owner nearby added: "Looks to be an isolated incident - thankfully the fire has caused no damage to our business."
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to the blaze at 4.20am on Saturday.
A spokeswoman said: "We sent two engines to the scene. It seemed to be a fire in the passageway and there was some kind of gate on fire.
"The damage was limited to the passageway and none of the neighbouring businesses were compromised.
"After making the area safe we left the scene at around 6am."
No one was injured as a result of the fire and the cause is being investigated.
