Ferne McCann has vowed never to rely on a man as she feels she is more than capable of supporting herself and her young daughter after amassing a multimillion pound fortune.

The unlucky in love 31-year-old mum-of-one is reportedly worth a whopping £5.5 million thanks to her deals with ITV to make her reality series Ferne McCann: First Time Mum.

The reality star – who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex in 2013 – also has endorsement deals with brands and makes money through a fitness app called Embodyment.

Ferne has struggled to find love over the years – with Arthur Collins, the father of her three-year-old daughter Sunday, serving a 20 year prison sentence after he organised an acid attack in an East London club in 2017.

Speaking to Fabulous magazine about her wealth, Ferne said her fortune means she can afford to enjoy life without a man, should she choose to.

Ferne said she was thrilled to be ranked 13th on Fabulous Magazine Reality Rich List thanks to her fortune, telling the magazine: “That’s made my week. I love to work."

She said: "I’ve been that girl on a Friday night going into London, dressed up to the nines, trying to meet a banker, and I’ve dated footballers. But I will never stop working or rely on a man to fund me and give me what I want.

“It’s important I teach my daughter that if you want some-thing, you can absolutely achieve it if you work hard enough. I’ve had guys who could have given me an easy, comfortable life but it doesn’t excite me.

"I want to work for myself and provide for my daughter. I take great comfort and can sleep happily at night knowing I can look after us both. It’s rewarding knowing that I’ve made that happen for us.”

Ferne’s romantic life has been far from prosperous.

She was in a relationship with former businessman and scaffolder Arthur, 39, in 2017 and said in an interview at the time that she was looking forward to marrying him soon.

However, their lives were torn in very different directions in April that year when Arthur was arrested and charged in connection with an acid attack that was carried out in a club that left 14 people injured.

He had gone on the run following the incident but police eventually caught him – and he was ultimately sentenced to 20 years behind bars.

Two days after Arthur made headlines due to his crimes, Ferne announced that she was pregnant with his child.

The reality star has gone on to date businessman Albie Gibbs, 26, and model Jack Padgett – but both romances fizzled out after a few months.

She has previously dated Towie star Charlie Sims who she had an on-off romance with over five years – and she has previously been linked to comedian Russell Brand and footballer Dele Alli.

While more recently the star said she has turned to God for comfort instead of finding herself a man.

She said earlier this month: “I've found God. Mr G is loyal, he listens to me - he's the perfect match.

“I've had an epiphany. This higher power that I've been meditating and communicating with and praying to is God. And I think it's your interpretation of that higher power.”
