Bruno Fernandes says he can't wait to play with "one of the best players in world" in Paul Pogba, with the duo primed to finally begin their Manchester United midfield partnership.
Portuguese star Fernandes very quickly became a favourite with United fans after joining from Sporting Lisbon in January, with only football's current suspension across Europe halting his impressive progress.
One thing Fernandes hasn't yet done at United is play with Pogba though, as the World Cup winner has remained sidelined through injury throughout his time at the club.
Football's enforced hiatus has allowed Pogba to get back towards full fitness though, and Fernandes is looking forward to linking up with him.
"Yes of course, I think Paul is one of the best players in Manchester and in the world," said the Portuguese in an Instagram Live chat with the footballer Mario Djurovski.
"He was injured for a lot of time. The opportunity to play side to side with him is fantastic because you want to play with the best players you can."
Former United forward Dimitar Berbatov is another who is looking forward to seeing the duo link up, with United's first game set to be at another of his former clubs, Tottenham.
"It will be the first time we get to see Fernandes and Pogba play together and it will be interesting to see if they can hit it off, they will have had the chance to get to know each other in training but that is totally different to a game," Berbatov told Betfair.
"It could be a great partnership and I am sure that Pogba’s return is a massive boost and will give huge confidence to the whole team.
"One player doesn’t define a team, but when you have good, quality, confident players putting all their effort in to help the team then you are going to succeed."
