Family 'disgusted' that Pontin's holiday room 'smelled', had 'iron burns on floor'

Vacation of family at holiday park in Pontin ruined after horrible situation the family experienced in their room .

Maxine Hannah, 44, Pontins and Prestatin Sands after her brother-in-law died along with her husband Mark, her Malvern, 43, and her 13-year-old son. At the holiday park she was on vacation for three nights.

But when her family arrived at the holiday park, Maxine was stunned to see how bad their rooms were. Liverpool Echo reported.

She said: As soon as I walked in I looked around and saw iron burn marks on the floor, an ironing board, an oven full of crumbs and a dirty toothbrush in the boiler.

"We immediately went to the reception and showed him (manager) the picture and he said 'not so good'. I asked someone to come and take a look.It was 9pm and no one had come.The reception was closed and the manager was gone."

Room I was hesitant to eat in my room because it was so dirty.

Pontins then apologized to her family in a letter.

“We are very grateful that you have taken the time to share with us your vacation experiences and observations regarding your recent stay at Prestatin Sands Holiday Park. , We are justifiably disappointed to learn that we did not meet your expectations as detailed.

We understand that all units must be fully prepared prior to our arrival.It has been taken very seriously.”

Despite Maxine's complaints, Pontins refused to issue a full refund for the family trip and instead offered a "brochure price Offered a 30% discount on future breaks, etc.

After Maxine returned to her Pontins and demanded her refund, the company responded:

They added: “All complaints received will be fully reported and action will be taken accordingly to rectify these issues. We are happy to receive constructive criticism so that we can make necessary improvements.

"We feel that we have properly addressed your complaint and made a fair offer of 30% off your future room rate. Please note that this is a final offer.
