The FA Cup proper is set to begin as the draw for the first round of the competition will take place this evening.

48 clubs from EFL League One and League Two, including Tranmere Rovers, will enter the competition and discover their first opponents in the draw.

They are alongside the 32 winners from the previous qualifying round, with Skelmersdale United and Marine AFC both looking ahead to find out their opponents.

Ninth-tier Skelmersdale United reached the first round of the FA Cup proper on Saturday following an emphatic 4-1 away victory at Stafford Rangers.

Marine, a division above United, will also be in the draw after a late James Barrigan penalty secured a narrow 1-0 win over Conference North club Chester.

The stand-out names for the non-league pair include two-time FA Cup winners Sunderland, 2013 winners Wigan Athletic and 2014 runners-up Hull City.

The first round fixtures will be played on the weekend of November 7th, with winning sides securing £22,629 in prize money.
