Kate Middleton and William dressed casual to wedding say experts
The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, and the Countess of Wessex, 56, appear to have formed a close relationship as the two Royals are often snapped giggling together on their joint trips out. And now a body language expert has assessed the pictures of Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex when they have been at Royal Ascot and even the Paralympic Games.
After analysing an image of the duo at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, Judi James told The Sun: "Kate looks delighted to have made Sophie laugh like this and the slight nose-wrinkling suggests she thinks she is being rather naughty here."
But Ms James has claimed the strong bond between the pair was also on show during a visit to Royal Ascot.
The snap in question shows Sophie tumbling towards Prince William's wife after she leaned in to greet Kate with a friendly kiss on the cheek.
"The two women meet face-to-face here and Kate’s raised brows and eyes widened in mock shock produce a matching, open-mouthed response from Sophie, showing those strong bonds of shared fun that clearly seem to exist when the two women aren’t out in public," she said.

Despite their friendly relationship, photos taken from their more serious outings suggest Prince Edward's wife undertakes a role of a Royal mentor.
During their visit to the Commonwealth Day service, an event which would prove to be the last Royal engagement for the estranged Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Ms James suggests Sophie is working to put Kate at ease.
"This pose defines Sophie's role as mentor, support and 'buffer' in her relationship with Kate," she said.
The body language expert added: "It was one of the most awkward moments for both Kate and William, following all the fall-out of the rift between William and his brother Harry."

But this has not been the first time that Sophie has been said to be a mentor in the Firm.
According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, the Countess of Wessex was tipped to mentor Meghan Markle when she joined the Royal Family in 2018.
Ms Nicholl claimed a source told her: "The Queen likes the idea of Sophie being an unofficial mentor to Meghan.
"Sophie is often at Windsor taking the kids riding on the Queen’s horses and playing at the castle.
