Manchester United under-23s will be going in search of a second successive Premier League 2 victory when they lock horns with Everton at the Pure Stadium in Southport this evening.

After five outings so far this season, Neil Wood's side, who defeated Bradford City 3-0 in the Papa John's Trophy on Tuesday evening, lie eighth in the table with just one win and five points to their name.

But after getting the better of Brighton & Hove Albion in their last league outing, winning 2-1, confidence within the United camp is likely to be high.

Everton, meanwhile, have experienced a similar start to their league campaign, also winning just one of their first five matches, but have taken one point fewer than United so far.

United's Under-23s squad has an embarrassment of riches and quality this season, with Wood able to call upon a whole host of exciting youngsters to make things happen. With that in mind, he will be hoping they can deliver the goods this evening and make it three wins on the bounce in all competitions.
