Good morning, Everton fans. Here are your morning headlines for Saturday, July 4.

Ancelotti responds to Saints midfielder link

Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti has described Everton -linked midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as a “good player”.

Speaking to the media, Ancelotti expressed his admiration for the Southampton man but refused to be drawn into commenting on his future.

Everton have been linked with the Saints’ star who looks set to leave the south coast this summer after failing to agree to a new contract.

Despite his reluctance to speak about Hojbjerg further, Ancelotti did indicate he may be able to speak more candidly once the current campaign had drawn to a close.

He said: "He is playing for Southampton, so I don’t want to talk about another Premier League player. I can give an opinion about him at the end of the season."

Toffees 'consider swap deal' for American star

Everton may propose a swap deal this summer which could bring United States international Weston McKennie to Goodison Park, according to reports.

The deal – reported by BILD – indicates the Toffees could use Jonjoe Kenny as a makeweight in a transfer that brings McKennie to the Premier League from German side Schalke.

Currently managed by former Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner, Schalke hosted Evertonian Kenny on a season-long loan and he became a mainstay at right-back.

McKennie, meanwhile, is keen on a Premier League move this summer, and Everton are one of a handful of clubs reportedly interested in his signature.

Everton a 'delight' to work with

Everton revealed their new kit for the 2020/21 season this week, with the Toffees entering into a new deal with supplier hummel.

It has been the fastest-selling home kit in history and its success is rooted in the relationship between the club and hummel.

In an exclusive interview with the ECHO, the Danish company’s Chief Brand Officer Filip Trulsson stated it was the small things and “personal touches” that convinced him Everton was a great club to partner with.

“There was a phenomenal welcome video from the club tapping into the identity, personality and values the club represent - topped off by a personal message from Mr Ancelotti,” the Dane said.

Trulsson also described hummel and Everton’s core values as nicely aligned, further strengthening their working relationship and consequently producing a shirt that all parties were pleased with.

"It's a delight to work with the club and I think that also shows in our smiles and our excitement in getting going. It's very much a strong match, without a doubt,” Tru l sson added .
