Manchester United could get their much-needed transfer reinforcements in December, according to new reports. That could be a big boost for the club, who are hoping Mandzukic can make the same sort of quick impact seen previously by the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

They are also looking at Rakitic, probably with a similar mindset.

A move for Christian Eriksen, mind, could be less likely than before with reports that Bayern Munich are interested in the playmaker.

United could get Mandzukic earlier than January - report

Manchester United have been heavily linked with Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic, with the Express claiming that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reached a verbal agreement with the Italian club to sign him in January.

And the Express now report, via Italian outlet Tuttosport, that Juve could allow Mandzukic to make the move in December, to adjust to his new surroundings.

The 33-year-old is not part of Juventus’ plans this season and almost moved to United in the summer.

United 'open talks' for Rakitic

Manchester United have reportedly ‘opened talks’ with Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic over a potential transfer.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, United want to sign the Croatian in January to bolster their midfield. The 31-year-old has started only once this season for Barca and could be heading out - though it’s reported that Barcelona want €40 million for him.

Bayern Munich interested in Eriksen

Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen and could make a move for the player in January.

Eriksen is said to be unhappy at Spurs and admitted over the summer that he wanted a "new challenge" following six seasons at the north London club.

With his contract set to expire in June Eriksen is almost certain to move on, and according to SPORT1 Bayern are willing to offer the 27-year-old an escape route in the January transfer window.

They claim the Bundesliga champions have already contacted Eriksen's party and he is said to be open to the idea of the move.
