Manchester United target Denis Zakaria will be staying at Borussia Monchengladbach - at least in January - according to his agent.

The £43m-rated midfielder has been attracting the interest of some Premier League giants, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

But according to his agent, the 22-year-old is currently focused on the job at hand - keeping Monchengladbach at the top of the Bundesliga.

Despite this, Ed Woodward is  said to be keen to bring in the Swiss international as a replacement for Ander Herrera after his summer departure.

Mathieu Beda has warned Zakaria's suitors they will have to wait until at least the summer as he ruled out an exit in the upcoming transfer window.

"Denis will not leave Borussia in the winter, a change is 100 per cent excluded," he told Sport BILD.

"Denis is in very good shape in Gladbach and has been playing really well for weeks, but he still has more potential and he wants to show that in Gladbach now instead of dealing with a change."

Tough-tackling midfielder Zakaria, who joined Monchengladbach from Young Boys in 2017, has been crucial in their rise to the top of the Bundesliga table ahead of the international break.

He has score two goals from 11 games and been a major presence in midfield before featuring alongside Xhaka in midfield as Switzerland beat Georgia on Friday.

Wales. Golf. Manchester United

According to Reports in Spain, Welsh superstar Gareth Bale would prefer a move to Old Trafford ahead of a return to former club Tottenham.

The winger had been linked to White Hart Lane since Jose Mourinho took charge of the club, but Mundo Deportive suggest Manchester United is the 'preferred option'.

That said, Real Madrid would like to keep hold of their man in January - despite how some fans may react.

The 30-year-old will return to the Spanish capital after his international exploits.

But while playing for Wales Bale embroiled himself in yet more controversy surrounding his love for golf and perceived lack of affection for Madrid.

The forward was pictured in front of a Welsh flag that read: "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order" which has not endeared himself to the Bernabeu faithful.

But Madrid are not prepared to sell Bale in January after one club source told Marca : "He is the best player we have, and he will still give a lot to our club."

Atletico Matic

Nemanja Matic is open to a move away from Old Trafford in January over a lack of playing time and the latest reports suggest he is a target for Atletico Madrid.

Atletico have now emerged as a club who are interested in signing the midfielder, ESPN report, and his eligibility to play in the Champions League, having only played in the Europa League this season, is regarded as a key factor.

AC Milan are also said to be interested.
