A European-style 'beer hall' has been created at a south Liverpool pub for Euro 2020.

Dovedale Towers on Penny Lane has opened the venue in the pub's outside space, with room for 150 fans to take in the Euros action under a giant marquee.

It's one of several large-scale outdoor venues screening matches throughout the tournament, including a huge fan park in the grounds of the Knowsley Estate.

Affectionately known as the Dovey, Dovedale Towers has had a number of footballing connections in recent years, playing host to Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp, who filmed separate adverts at the venue.

Klopp's advert was for German beer brand Erdinger., and at the time Wolfgang Kuffner, marketing director of ERDINGER Weissbräu, said: "Everybody went quiet when Jurgen Klopp walked into the Dovedale Towers as he has such a presence.

"He was soon chatting and joking with us all, though, and was an absolute pleasure to work with."

The Dovey beer hall is showing every game throughout the Euros, which are set to end with a showpiece final at Wembley on July 11.

The ECHO understands it could also be kept on after the tournament ends.
