Emmerdale have hinted that terror and death is about to visit in the dales with the release of a tense trailer for the coming week of episodes.
The long-running ITV soap is about to air a ’survival week’ which is expected to see residents of the countryside community placed in danger.
And one member of the soap is expected to perish as Meena Jutla’s reign of terror takes continues – while daring scenes will see characters thrown into rapids.
A chilling trailer has hinted at the terror and destruction that lies in wait over the coming week which will leave fans on the edge of their seats – with the episodes also coinciding with Emmerdale's birthday.
The show first aired way back on October 16th 1972 – making the show 49 years old this week.
Footage for the bumper episodes airing this week shows fires flickering as the camera spins while a voice over announces: “It was meant to be a day of fun. And it was. To begin with…
“Everyone was really up for it. It was a trial run. So I suppose we imagined the odd thing might go wrong.
“But not this. No one could have imagined this.”
Meena is tipped to kill off her sister Manpreet when a group of characters engage in a team bonding trip by going canoeing down white water rapids.
However it is expected the death could be in a sense accidental – as Meena actually has her sights set on Victoria Sugden who she wants to kill after learning her boyfriend, David Metcalfe is in love with her.
Show makers spent six weeks filming the dramatic scenes which include ambitious stunts set in a river.
While a custom built maize maze was also grown from scratch near the Emmerdale village for further scenes that are expected to include drama and destruction.
Meena actress Paige Sandhu recently opened up about her time working on Emmerdale – and the scenes coming up this week.
She told OK!: “It has to be Super Soap Week. It’s the best ever.
“The stunts that we were doing were the most amazing, incredible experiences ever and the locations were out of this world beautiful. Everything just felt so special and from what I’ve seen so far, it’s amazing.”
While her character might be trying to kill everyone in sight on the show, Paige also said she is close to her co-stars in real life.
She said: “Everyone’s so lovely and I’ve made good friendships.
“I joined when Covid restrictions were in place, so I didn’t meet a lot of people and I still don’t know a lot of people in the cast because we’ve not been allowed in the same scenes. But I’ve got a really close bond with Rebecca.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.Read More Read More
