Emmerdale’s Danny Miller was filming barn explosion when he learnt fiancée Steph Jones was pregnant

SHOCK SCENES

EMMERDALE'S Danny Miller was filming the soaps huge barn explosion when his fiancée Steph Jones told him she was pregnant.

The actor opened up on today's Loose Women about the moment his other half desperately tried to tell him the news mid shoot.

He said: "I was filming the barn explosion that aired about six weeks ago. I was filming the aftermath of that at the hospital.

"Luckily I didn’t have too much to do."

In another stroke of good fortune, Danny had his phone to hand as the cast were reading scripts from them rather than paper copies because of the coronavirus pandemic.

He had also left his phone on loud because Steph had been feeling unwell - but he still didn't get her call on her first attempt.

He said: "I was in the middle of the storyline and I had seven missed calls and four texts, none of which made sense.

"I then had to step off set when I could. I knew there was something going on."

The couple, who have been together for two year but known each other since school, revealed they had got engaged on the same day they shared their baby news.

Danny recently shared a video of the moment he popped the question in St Lucia.

Steph originally booked the January trip to celebrate Danny’s 30th birthday, but it ended up being a double celebration.

Danny got down on one knee to propose during a candlelit beach dinner on the penultimate day of their trip.

The actor, 30, shared that the couple found out they were expecting just days before starting IVF treatment after trying for a baby for a year.
