Emmerdale spoilers recently revealed Aaron Dingle would be forced to face his past, and his troubles growing up.

This week on the ITV soap, he met Ben and things appeared to be a little awkward.

It was during Wednesday's episode that more was revealed, and Aaron finally learned he had already met the newcomer in his past.

Ben was insulted that Aaron didn't remember him, before explaining that they didn't get along when they were kids.

In fact, Ben confessed Aaron made his life hell as a teenager, taunting him and bullying him for being gay.

But Ben revealed he is much stronger now, and would bite back if he needed to.

Aaron soon realised who he was, remembering what he did all those years ago.

What Ben doesn't know is that Aaron himself is gay, and that as a teenager his struggle with his own sexuality led to him almost taking his own life.

Aaron was also facing trauma at the time he was targeting Ben, as he was sexually abused by his father growing up - with Aaron confessing to taking it out on Ben.

Ben's words will no doubt leave Aaron mortified, amid rumours Ben will become a new love interest for him.
