X Factor star Emma Chawner showed off her incredible 13 stone weight loss today after overhauling her lifestyle.

She appeared on the ITV singing show in 2007 - today she revealed her transformation on Lorraine.

Simon Cowell will likely be eating his words after branding Emma a “flump” during her audition, which saw her wearing a dress made by her father.

Her family were also cruelly dubbed the fattest and laziest in the UK following her appearance.

Emma, now 30, has been open about her desire to lose weight over the years - in 2009 she took part in the Big Fat Challenge, also fronted by Lorraine Kelly.

But after three years of hard work, the childminder, who was 28 stone at her heaviest, has lost almost half her body weight thanks to a healthy diet and exercise.

“I’ve done it all myself this time. No one has pushed me to do it,” she revealed.

“I wasn’t healthy, I was always out of breath, my asthma got worse, and I ended up with diabetes as well.

“It’s all about mindset I have cut out potatoes, pasta and rice and changed it to veg. Portion sizes as well.”

Speaking of her new healthy regime, Emma explained that walking has been a big part of her transformation, saying: “I do about six miles every weekend with the kids.”

Emma also admitted that personal tragedy added to her desire for change.

“It was just the stress I had a couple of years ago, with my mum and dad breaking up, losing my dog,” she said.

Speaking of her time on X Factor, Emma reasoned that she had received both good and bad from taking part on the show.

She revealed: “The good thing is we did a show with you, we lost weight. But then we had death threats and bullying online.

She added: “I thought it was going to be a good outcome but it turned out the other way.”

She had some advice for people receiving online bullying.

“I just talked to the family and my friends who said just ignore them or block them. Don’t read the message and block them. I still get it now,” she said.

“I get negatives saying I’ve had a gastric band, which I haven’t, I have done it all myself.”

Emma explained that she still has a little bit to go in her weight loss journey.

“I want to get down to 12 stone,” she said.

Emma says although she still enjoys singing, she is not pursuing it as a career anymore.

“I do but I don’t want to go down that road. I’ll still sing in the shower and the car or something like that,” she added.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
