Ed Sheeran earned a whopping £100,000 a day last year despite break from music

SO MINT-ED

SUPERSTAR Ed Sheeran made almost £100,000 a day last year — making him the richest solo artist in the world.

Accounts released yesterday show his company, Ed Sheeran Ltd, made a gross profit of £36,456,811, or £99,881 a day.

The singer earned almost 55 per cent more than he did in 2018, when he made £23,770,262.

Ed, 29, has sold 150million records worldwide but is now on a two-year break.

Ed launched his third album, Divide, in March 2017 and began a worldwide tour, which broke records for the highest grossing tour of all time.

Sheeran, who was named artist of the decade by the Official Charts Company in December last year, announced that he would be taking a two-year break from music.

He has spent much of this year in lockdown luxury at his Suffolk estate, which boasts a £500,000 wildlife pond, an outdoor kitchen and a football pitch.

It also features a pub, a walled kitchen garden, an orchard, a mini paddock for chickens, goats and sheep and an entertainment area with a hot tub and fire pit.

Ed is also owner of a 27-property portfolio believed to be worth £57 million and owns a bar in Notting Hill called Bertie Blossoms.

To top it off, Ed became a dad for the first time after his wife, Cherry Seaborn, gave birth to their daughter, Lyra Antarctica in September.
