ED Sheeran has now built a football pitch and helipad on his sprawling £3.7m Suffolk estate just months after his neighbours complained about his new pub.
New images from the star's 16-acre home, dubbed Sheeranville, show a 110ft pitch has appeared complete with goals and markings.
But there will be no late-night matches on his new pitch as any lights used to illuminate Ed’s garden must be switched off between midnight and 7am.
A friend of the star said: “Ed might be a global super-star but he’s a simple lad who loves his football. His idea of a good time is a kickabout with his pals — and with his big pitch he’ll be able to do that in the comfort of his own home.”
Ed, 28, is planning to take an extended break from music so will no doubt be making the most of the impressive place alongside wife Cherry Seaborn, 27.
Earlier this year the superstar’s singer’s neighbours were angered after aerial pictures showed he had built what look like steps, a changing room and a jetty to dive off for the “wildlife pond”.
Sheeran’s planning application for the pond said it was to “support nature conservation… providing a natural habitat for breeding and wetland invertebrates such as dragonflies and water beetles, as well as providing a source of drinking water to birds and mammals.”
In 2016, officials made it clear the pond would have “no other uses” and that it definitely would not be used for “recreational leisure such as swimming.”
East Suffolk council gave permission for the jetty and steps after they were “to enable access to the pond in the event of maintenance and emergency.”
Last year, it was revealed that Sheeran, who has an estimated fortune of £40 million, extended his Suffolk estate by buying two more large houses in the local village.
His estate now includes four large houses, an indoor swimming pool, a four-room treehouse and an underground “man-cave” complete with personal cinema and music room.
