EastEnders hard man Phil Mitchell will consider fleeing Walford next week and wants to take his son Raymond with him.
New spoilers for the popular BBC soap reveal that Phil starts thinking about taking drastic measures in order to spend time with his child.
During next Monday's episode Phil gets a call from Ritchie about the situation with Raymond.
He goes to Jack to try and see Raymond but Jack tells him he’s got no chance.
Later on that day when he returns home, he finds Billy there and to Phil's annoyance, his girlfriend Kat explains that he’ll be staying until he can get back on his feet.
Kat has a rare record to help Billy make some money and tells Jay that she used Phil’s money to buy it without him knowing.
Jay plants the record and pretends to finds it, and Billy can’t believe his luck as the bids flood in but Janet tells Billy she wants it.
Later, Kat finds Janet playing the record and comes clean to Billy that it was a lifeline she threw him.
She goes to grab it but there is a scratch meaning that the record is ruined.
Phil really hits the roof when he hears about the record and orders Billy out.
He tells Kat that Ritchie has said it’s going to be hard to get custody of Raymond and after his conversation with Jack he’s considering taking him and doing a runner.
On Tuesday, Kat begs Phil not to take Raymond, so he gives her until the end of the day to convince him, otherwise he is going through with it.
Kat decides to visit Raymond's mum Denise at the salon to try and convince her to let Phil see his son.
Phil and Denise conceived Raymond during an ill-judged drunken one-night-stand years ago and Denise subsequently gave up little Raymond for adoption.
However, following the deaths of Raymond’s adoptive parents, Denise was able to regain custody of her biological son and is raising him with partner Jack Branning.
Despite enabling Phil to have some access to Raymond, Denise was not keen on him being a father figure in Raymond’s life and was riled when Raymond revealed Phil had told him the truth about his paternity earlier this month.
Yet, with encouragement from Kat to fight for Raymond - and indirect encouragement from his bitter estranged son Ben Mitchell - Phil took a stand against Denise in a recent confrontation at the Arches.
Phil shouted to Denise: “Now, I am his Dad and I want to be there for him. And if you ain’t gonna give me that then, well, I reckon a judge will.”
“You wouldn’t dare take this to the courts,” said a scared Denise. "We could both lose him!"
However, after Denise previously threatened that Phil would not see Raymond again, he concluded that he had nothing to lose.
Will Denise listen to Kat and come to some sort of arrangement with her former fling? Or will Phil make the difficult decision to leave Albert Square?
EastEnders usually airs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings on BBC One but all of this week’s episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.
