EASTENDERS icon Patsy Palmer is to return to the soap as legendary character Bianca Jackson.
The actress, 47, is set to film her comeback scenes on the BBC1 show in the coming weeks as her on-screen adopted daughter Whitney Dean admitted murdering stalker Leo in tonight’s episode.
Patsy’s character Bianca, who has returned for three stints since she joined in 1993, will return to help Whitney — played by Shona McGarty — through her arrest and subsequent trial.
A soap source said: “Bianca is a legendary character and the writers are always delighted to be able to invite Patsy back to play her.
“Whitney’s admission in Friday’s episode will lead to some tough times for her, so her adoptive mum comes back to help her out. Although it remains to be seen how helpful Bianca back will be for her.”
Patsy joined EastEnders in 1993, left in 1999, and returned for a second stint in 2008 before quitting again in 2014.
We then told how she was coming back for a third stint last year to be reunited with troubled daughter Tiffany, played by Maisie Smith.
Bianca’s wedding to Ricky Butcher, played by Sid Owen, in 1997 drew one of the biggest soap audiences ever — more than 22million.
Patsy has been nominated for multiple awards for her performances as Bianca.
After quitting in 2014, the mum of four moved to LA to spend more time with her family and husband Richard Merkell.
