EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer is coming back to Albert Square in her iconic role as Bianca Jackson, and is set to be at the heart of one of the show's biggest storylines once again.

As soap fans would have seen this last night, Bianca's adopted daughter Whitney Dean has confessed to murdering Leo King, who had been stalking her.

Leo is the son of Tony King, the man who Bianca was with when she moved back to the square in 2008, after almost a decade away.

Tony, it was later discovered was abusing the then under-aged Whitney, whom he was also a father figure to.

In more recent storylines, Leo tricked Whitney into being with him so he could make her pay for his dad's death, which he blamed her for, after Tony killed himself in prison.

Bianca came back to Albert Square for a brief stint last year

Bianca, who has already made a dramatic return to the square three times since she first appeared in 1993, will no doubt offer a lot of support to Whitney who will definitely need it to help her through her arrest and trial.

A source told the Sun Online: "Whitney's admission in Friday's episode will lead to some tough times for her, so her adoptive mum comes back to help her out.

Although it remains to be seen how helpful Bianca back will be for her".

Patsy, 47, first left EastEnders in 1999.

Bianca will be on hand to support Whitney during her trial

She returned in 2008 for a second stint, before leaving again in 2014.

She then briefly reprised the role in the autumn of last year when she was reunited with troubled youngest daughter Tiffany Butcher and attended Tiffany's failed wedding to Callum Highway.

Viewers also saw Bianca have a few tense interactions with Leo before she left, warning him to stay away from her family, after he turned up at Whitney's wedding and then later on the square.

No doubt fans will be keen to see the fallout if it comes out that Bianca knew Leo was hanging around the square early on but failed to warn Whitney.

Patsy appeared ITV's hit series The Masked Singer earlier this year

Bianca Jackson has remained one of the soap's biggest characters, and her wedding to childhood sweetheart Ricky Butcher (played by Sid Owen) attracted over 22 million viewers.
