EastEnders fans were left horrified this evening as Honey Mitchell was sexually assaulted by her date while she lay unconscious in an alleyway.

Honey, played by Emma Barton, has been on a second date with a man she had met while delivering food parcels.

The man, whose name was Paul, ended up spiking Honey's drink while she wasn't looking and she was left almost incoherent after the meal.

Paul had led her outside Walford East and promised to get her home safely - only to push her into an alleyway.

Honey fell unconscious on the floor and lay unmoving as Paul smirked and filmed her.

Meanwhile Jay received a slurred voicemail from Honey and frantically tried to find her in the Square.

Ringing her phone, Jay heard her ringtone in an alleyway and ran to find her - only to encounter Paul who was doing up the flies on his jeans.

"Oi, what are you doing!" Jay called out and began to run after Paul, but saw Honey lying on the floor.

Running to her side, Jay shouted: "Honey, are you alright? Can you hear me Honey?"

But Honey didn't respond as Jay stared down at her in fear.

Fans took to Twitter, horrified by the scenes.

One tweeted: "This is horrible."

While another pleaded: "JAY, SAVE HER!"

A third wrote: "Poor Honey."

Will Honey be OK?
