A COUPLE remain in a serious condition a week after their were hurt in a motorbike crash.
The man and his wife, who are from County Durham, were seriously injured on the A61 at Melmerby, in North Yorkshire on Saturday, September 7.
The motorcycle was being ridden by the man, who is in his 50s, while his wife, believed to be in her 40s, was a pillion passenger.
At about 1.40pm last Saturday, the couple's Kawasaki bike was travelling towards Ripon when it served and left the road, throwing them both from the vehicle. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
The woman was taken to Leeds General Hospital by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, while her husband was airlifted to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by the Great North Air Ambulance.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to call them on 101, quoting reference 121-9016-6202.
