A seminal novel of 20th century is about to visit cinema screens for a whole new generation.

Quebecois director Denis Villeneuve is brings a new adaptation of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic Dune, following a previously panned 1984 version by iconic director David Lynch.

Dune follows the trials and tribulations of the aristocratic House of Atreides as they face major betrayal and a lust for control over the all important fuels of the planet Arrakis.

Working with his cinematographer Greig Fraser and composer Hans Zimmer, Villeneuve's Dune looks set to be a titanic vision.

With an all-star cast led by Oscar-nominee Timothee Chalamet as hero Paul Atreides, we feel like audiences are going to be swept up with the sands of Arrakis.

Here is everything you need to know about the new movie, including - most importantly - when we can expect it in cinemas.
