A driver has been arrested after allegedly being under the influence of cannabis.

The motorist, driving a white Hyundai, was stopped by police in Cumbria after officers spotted them driving at high speeds.

Police slammed the motorist for "endangering the lives of other road users."

The driver was then arrested for being under the influence of cannabis.

THe vehicle was also seized and an S59 warning was issued for any future anti-social behaviour.

Speaking of the incident on social media, a spokesperson for Cumbria Road Police said: "This vehicle was stopped after it was driving at high speeds, endangering the lives of other road users in the south of the county.

"Driver arrested for being under the influence of cannabis. Vehicle seized 165 and a S59 warning issued for any future ASB."
