Dominic Calvert-Lewin has admitted that he has missed playing and scoring goals, soon after helping Everton progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old netted the Toffees’ first goal in a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday to reach the fifth round of the competition.

Richarlison and Yerry Mina got the other two goals for Everton, and will now wait to face the winners of Monday’s clash between Wycombe Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

Calvert-Lewin has missed the last three matches due to a hamstring injury.

And he has admitted that it felt good to be back among the goals, with his previous strike coming back in early December.

“I’ve missed it,” Calvert-Lewin told BT Sport.

He added: “I’ve worked hard to get back to full fitness quickly, had a good week training and it’s good to be back.

“To get the goal early settles you back in, and it feels good to be back in the goals.”

Everton staying in the competition keeps alive their chances of winning the club’s first trophy since 1995, and it’s something that Calvert-Lewin is desperate to rectify.
