'Do the Right Thing' - Rutherglen City Councilman Tells Shameful Margaret Ferrier to Quit Local Councilor

Rutherglen's MSP has asked the disgraced MP Margaret Ferrier to resign as representative of the region in Congress.

Ferrier's good friend Claire Haughey said she was "sad and angry" at the MP's actions after pleading guilty in court on Thursday.

She self-isolated while awaiting test results, but instead traveled to London, spoke in parliament, and dined with another member of parliament before learning that she had tested positive.

She then returned to Cambuslang's house.

The resulting repercussions left Ms. Ferrier stigmatized over her political divisions, and she received her disqualification from the SNP.

However, she continues to refuse to resign and she now serves as an independent Member of Parliament.

Haughey told Lanarkshire Live. , I am deeply saddened and still angry at her actions.

"Margaret's actions were indefensible and reckless. I conceded that 2 I repeat the call from years ago: She must do the right thing and resign from her role as Member of Parliament immediately.”

Other politicians have also criticized Ms. Ferrier, saying: Labor MP Monica Lennon said Ferrier "continues to insult and shame voters".

Ms Ferrier is scheduled to be sentenced in the Glasgow Sheriff's Court next month.
