‘Disappointed’ Tottenham set to FINE Harry Kane for not turning up to pre-season training as striker and club go to war

TOTTENHAM are set to fine Harry Kane after he failed to show up for pre-season training on Monday, according to reports.

The England striker went AWOL as he reportedly tries to engineer a move to Manchester City.

And 'disappointed' Spurs are going to hit the 28-year-old in the pocket, according to Sky Sports News.

SunSport understands Kane was due at Hotspur Way for a Covid test on Monday ahead of a return to training.

Spurs' Euro 2020 stars are due back for pre-season training this week ahead of the new campaign in a fortnight's time.

It is understood that Kane was due to start training from Tuesday after his summer break.

Sky Sports News reporter Paul Gilmour tweeted on Monday morning that the England striker wasn't present at the training ground.

SunSport understands that the club were expecting their star striker to take a Covid test.

Kane wants to leave trophy-shy Spurs this summer in a bid to win silverware, with Man City interested in his signature.

But Kane's Monday no-show is said to have made Tottenham even more determined to cling on to him.

Spurs chief Daniel Levy, 59, is not willing to entertain any offer below £150million.

'KANE STILL WANTS TO LEAVE'

Speaking on Monday morning on Sky Sports News, Gilmour said: "The basic facts today as we know them are Kane still wants to leave, Tottenham still want to keep their star striker and Man City still want to buy him.

"There is all of that to sort out and business can go on now holiday time is over.

"If Kane is here this week, it is certainly expected there will be a lot of talks around that."

He added: "Harry Kane's position is quite clear, he still wants to leave.

"We know his love of Tottenham but this feels like more a business like decision.

"The warning signs have been there for Tottenham in terms of trying to keep up and match the ambitions of the man who gets all their goals."

SunSport revealed last month that Man City are ready to play the long game to land Kane.

The champions will look to drive down the staggering asking price set by Tottenham chairman Levy.

During the Euros, it emerged the Premier League champions were willing to offer around £100m for him, so there remains a huge gap in valuations.

The Sun revealed how Kane had been told he can go during a meeting with Levy.
