Friends of a woman who went missing two days ago have insisted ‘something has happened to her’ as the search continues.

Police say they are ‘increasingly concerned’ for Sarah Everard, 33, who vanished while walking to her home in Brixton, south London on Wednesday evening.

Her phone signal was last picked up near Clarence Avenue, in the Clapham Junction area, where she left another friend at about 9pm.

Ms Everard spoke to her partner on the way home but has not been heard from since that point, friend Rose Woollard said.

Friends believe that something happened to her after the phone call with her partner, which ended at 9.28pm.

They were unable to contact her on Thursday when they notified the police at about 8pm.

Ms Everard, described as 5ft 4in (162cm) with a slim build and blonde hair, was wearing a green coat and black and white trousers, Lambeth Police said on Twitter.

Other reports described the trousers as dark blue and white and said she also had white trainers, a white iPhone and green in-ear headphones.

Friends and family have mounted a serious effort to gather as much information as possible, sharing information on social media and reaching contacts as far as Dubai and Lebanon.

They are retracing her steps as she travelled home, distributing flyers and sharing posters with the local community.

Ms Wollard said her friend had recently got a new job as a senior marketing account manager, which she was excited to start.

‘She is a beautiful, thoughtful and incredibly kind friend. It is extremely uncharacteristic of her to have gone missing, which is why we are all deeply concerned something has happened to her,’ she told Brixton Blog.

In a plea for her return, family and friends said: ‘Sarah, we are here for whenever you are ready.

‘We can listen, talk you through what help you need, pass a message for you and help you to be safe.’
