A new shop is set to open in Burton selling half price designer clothes such as Gucci, Prada, Ralph Lauren and many more top names.

Brand Outlet will also sell Hugo Boss, and sportswear such as Adidas and Puma catering for men and women - selling items up to a minimum of 50 per cent off the retail price.

The firm is expanding from its shop in Derby's Ascot Drive into Coopers Square shopping centre into Barberista - a former barbers and cafe premises which closed several years ago.

Co-director Lenny Reynolds said due to the small size of the Burton unit he would be handpicking the clothing to sell based on interest from local customers - and he hopes to move into a larger premises in the town later.

He said: "We have always done well out of Burton. We ask at our Derby store where customers are from and its always about 20 to 30 per cent are from Burton and Swadlincote.

"We were always going to move to Burton but it has come sooner than expected. We know how hard it has been over the pandemic and there is nothing like this outlet wise nearby. We are only 20 minutes down the road.

"As people haven't been able to go into shops to try clothes on there is a massive overstock, with billions of pounds worth of stock.

"As Burton is a smaller unit we will be handpicking the items, so better stuff at better prices."

Brand Outlet will eventually bring five new jobs to the town.

The store is set to open the week beginning June 28.
