Denise Welch has admitted the worst thing she ever said on Loose Women, that landed her in hot water with multiple family members.
After more than ten years of service on the ITV daytime show, Denise has shared many tales about her personal life from her marriage split, mental health battle and wild 'party animal' days before she embraced sobriety.
Opening up in this week's heat magazine about some of her most mortifying moments, Denise, 62, admitted she frequently got into trouble during her early years on the show but is much better 'self-editing' these days.
Recalling the worst thing she ever said, Denise revealed: "I once told people that my sister got off with the best man at my wedding and I remember running to my dressing room afterwards thinking 'S**t!'
"My phone was buzzing and it was my sister 'wanting a word.'"
Denise said her mum and sister were 'always' calling her directly after her appearances on the lunchtime show 'annoyed' about something she'd revealed.
The star said she credits being eight years sober for helping to control her loose lips.
Denise said she used to love sharing stories about her kids, Louis and Matthew Healy - who is the lead singer of indie band The 1975 - with viewers, but now her boys are older they've asked not to be spoken about.
However, Denise said her kids' dad and her ex husband Tim Healy doesn't mind having a laugh at his expense.
In a now-deleted tweet, Tim fired: "Denise in her day was talking about how it was ok to have casual sex behind the bike shed even though married. Day after day year on year she discussed our private life. Long suffering Tim Healy I am no more xx."
Denise first joined Loose Women in 2005 before quitting in 2013. She then made a return to the show in 2018 and has continued to remain a familiar face on the panel.
The former Corrie star has also bagged a part in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as Trish Minniver.
Despite her packed work, Denise said she has no plans to leave Loose Women for a second time.
"It's hard juggling the schedules sometimes but it's worked out fine.
"It was always part of the plan that I would stay," she added.
Rumours have been swirling about the show after Andrea McLean announced her departure last year, swiftly followed by Saira Khan months later.
