A 'funny' 12-year-old boy has died after falling off the cliffs of Dover while celebrating his birthday on a family holiday, an inquiry has been held.

Mati Urb was visiting Kent with her parents and her two brothers when tragedy struck on April 4, 2022. On April 4th, 2022, tragedy struck.

At approximately 7:15 pm, a Coast Guard helicopter found his body at the base of a cliff, in an area considered inaccessible on foot.

Paramedics provided medical attention, but Matty was declared dead at the scene shortly after 8:00 pm.

An autopsy concluded that Matty died from head injuries, and police reports indicated no third party involvement.

TRAGIC PLUNGE

At an inquest at Maidstone, coroner Katrina Her Hepburn ruled that this young man's death was an accident.

Ms. Hepburn concluded: At St Margaret on the cliffs of Langdon, the family was separated and eventually Matty was not found.

"Calls were made to the Coast Guard, who then contacted the police. A search was launched involving Coast Guard helicopters and paramedics.

"Sad. At the time, Matty was located at the foot of a cliff, and despite initial attempts at resuscitation, he was sadly confirmed dead. suffered a head injury as a result of falling off a cliff.

"We do not know how Matty fell off the cliff. There were no witnesses. I don't know if I tripped and fell, if it was the wind, or if I was looking too far from the edge.

I see no evidence that he intended to cross the cliff.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of Matty in such unfortunate circumstances."
