David Beckham returned to his East End roots and visited his favourite pie and mash shop this week.
The star took his family to a pie-and-mash shop where he slurped up a bucket of jellied eels.
Beckham was joined on the trip to Cockney hotspot in Waltham Forest by sons Romeo , 17, Cruz , 14, and mum Sandra, 70.
The 44-year-old retired footballer has been visiting Tony’s Pie & Mash shop for several years and has apparently been craving the dish for a while.
He wrote in an Instagram post: “Much needed visit to see Tony @tonyspieandmash,” next to a photo of him tucking into quite a full plate.
In case his followers already didn’t have food envy, he shared a close-up snap of his jellied eels.
The former footballer tucked into a plate of pie and mash topped with ladle's of liquor sauce in Waltham Abbey, a short drive from his Leytonstone birthplace.
Beckham later shared a snap with cafe owner Tony and his staff before posing for a photo with mum Sandra outside the cafe entrance.
Sadly, wife Victoria was unable to make the trip to the Cockney pie emporium to inhale jellied sea creatures with the rest of her family.
While they were embracing East End life, 45-year-old Posh was posting about the "fluid silhouettes in punchy colours" of her new fashion line on Instagram.
Beckham's latest appearance comes amid claims that he and wife Victoria are planning to christen Cruz and daughter Harper at their Cotswolds home over Christmas.
The couple have only had their eldest sons baptised, and reportedly feel the time is right for Cruz, 14, and Harper, eight, to follow suit.
Film director Guy Ritchie is rumoured to be a godfather to Cruz while Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is claimed to be godmother to Harper, along with Victoria's sister Louise Adams.
