Former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa striker Darren Bent says he would have Mohamed Salah over 'anyone else' in the Premier League, including Manchester City star Jack Grealish.

Grealish joined City from Bent's former club Villa for £100m this summer and despite a fantastic Euro 2020 campaign for England, it's not enough to put him above Salah.

The Egyptian scored his 100th Premier League goal with a strike against Leeds United last weekend and Bent himself is one of the 29 players to reach the century.

When asked on talkSPORT to choose between Salah and Grealish, Bent said: “Salah, every day. He's still unbelievable.

“Every day, all day. I’d have Salah on that right-hand side, maybe even left, over anyone else in the Premier League."

Since his arrival in 2017, the 29-year-old has written himself into the Liverpool history books and is regarded by some as one of the greatest ever.

The winger has 100 Premier League goals, but he's scored 129 times in all competitions for the Reds.

He is currently the club's 11th all time top goal scorer, ahead of the likes of Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres - but behind Sir Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and Ian Rush.

Bent echoed the shouts that Salah would make it into Liverpool's all-time XI: “Certainly, in my era, which I’ve been watching, yeah, 100 per cent.

“But I didn’t see people like [Kenny] Dalglish because, obviously, I get that.”

Question marks remain over Salah's future as a new contract is yet to be agreed and manager Jurgen Klopp provided an update on Friday afternoon.

He told reporters: "There's nothing really to say, especially from me as I am not involved.

"The only thing I'm really interested in is how Mo [Salah] looks, how sharp and committed he is at the moment, and that's absolutely spot on.

"He looks really good. There is nothing else to say."
