THE Northern Echo has launched a weekly feature in which we present a bouquet of flowers to an individual or group going the extra mile in their community. The recipient of this week’s bouquet of the week is Dr Alison Horton, who works at Clifton Court Medical Practice in Darlington.
Dr Horton was nominated by Miss Judith Willis who wanted to acknowledge the exceptional service she has provided to her patients, especially in regards to her care and compassion.
Judith said that through the several years in which she went through a bad time, Dr Horton offered her essential time and understanding which Miss Willis believes she would not be here now without.
What is the most deserving thing they have done?
The staff, GPs and nurses at Clifton Court Medical Practise are very understanding and approachable and you do not feel rushed when you have an appointment with them. Miss Willis said that she wanted Dr Horton and the practise team to know she thinks they are the best surgery Darlington and that it “was a shame” that she could not have kept the same GP and Surgery when she moved.
Describe them in three words
They are a credit to their profession.
Dr Horton was presented with her bouquet yesterday. She said: “I’m thankful to be nominate and I think this is a testament to our National Health Service. It is very much appreciated to receive positive acknowledgements and thanks for our hard work, rather than criticism.”
