Daredevil pensioner, 93, strapped to plane, twirling in the air

This 93-year-old woman was strapped to a plane and flown through the air. She proves that age has no limits.

It takes a good deal of guts to climb onto the wing, strap on to the harness, and stand there while the plane does an intricate aerobatic flight in the sky – but Betty she Bromage is no newbie.

In fact, this was her fifth wingwalk for the pensioner from Cheltenham, who is raising funds with JustGivingfor the charity Sue Ryder.

Chocolate Inspired by her TV commercial for her bar, Bromage began playing the sport at age 87, despite having arthritis in her neck.

She said, "You never know what you can do until you try," said the thrill-seeker. "I was in my late 80s when I first tried this.

"The most dangerous thing I did before that was riding a horse.

"Wing walking. I never really thought about it seriously, but I wanted to raise money for charity, so I started looking into what I could do.

'My My age didn't allow me to run, so I looked for other ideas and got inspired by a walking ad on the Crunchie wing.

"I thought, 'I can do this.' }

Bromage has won the ITV Pride of Britain award after being nominated for a fundraiser. She has donated over £23,000 to local charities.

So far she has done her five wings her walk, the world's fastest zip at Snowdon her wire, her 161ft eagle at Cheltenham rappelling on her tower Has completed.

"I want to prove I can still do it," she stresses. ``As I get older, things don't get as easy as they used to, but I really want to try.

"If I can get on the plane and get off again, that's enough achievement for me.
