Danny MacAskill jumps bike onto brand new iPhone 14 in Edinburgh in latest stunt

Scottish professional trials cyclist Danny MacAskill has returned to his "old stomping grounds" to record more hair-raising stunts for his social media.

The 36-year-old has become a worldwide phenomenon for the tricks he performs on and around some of the world's best-known architecture, Edinburgh Live reports. Last month, he returned to Scotland to perform some new tricks and to put the versatility of the new iPhone 14 to the test in a clip on TikTok.

In the clip - an ad for a company producing smartphone cases - the Skye-born biker clambers on top of a telephone box on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. He then mounts his bike and bunny-hops down directly onto the smartphone, to cheers from a watching crowd.

After landing on the brand new phone, which remains intact, Danny laughs: "Unbelievable." One viewer joked: "I would be honoured to be that phone."

Elsewhere, Danny has recently shared clips of practice runs in Scotland's capital, often with an audience of astounded onlookers, as well as stunts in Aberdeen. He even posted a video of a front flip in front of the garage of F1 driver Sergio Perez at Silverstone during the British Grand Prix - part of a tie-in with the energy drink Red Bull, which serves as one of his sponsors.

He was filmed balancing on the blade of a windmill in one of his most dangerous clips to date. Some of Danny's stunts are so dangerous that TikTok slaps a safety warning on them, telling viewers: "The actions in this video are performed by professionals or supervised by professionals. Do not attempt."

Danny explained that by taking part in the turbine stunt, hundreds of feet in the air, he was helping to raise awareness for climate change ahead of Cop26 in Glasgow in 2021. This particular clip reached over four million views in just one week, with viewers quick to point out that MacAskill was not being held up by a harness or safety equipment.

One commenter said: "Danny; this stresses me out more than anything I've ever seen you do." Another added: "I absolutely love every video from Danny McCaskill but now with this one I think I may need therapy."
