The latest number of covid cases for every area of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire show there is some good news.

Every postcode across the two areas has seen a drop in the number of infections recorded over the last seven days to July 25, the latest figures available from Public Health England.

Eton Park, Uttoxeter Town and Heath, and Mayfield, Rocester and Bramshall, in East Staffordshire, have all seen a drop of 50 per cent or more in cases.

The same for Swadlincote centre, north and south, and Hilton and Etwall, over in South Derbyshire.

All postcodes in both areas are now recording some covid cases, compared to May when many were "suppressed", meaning they had less than three cases.

The figures are the latest available at the time of publication and are for the seven days up to July 25 and include all postcodes across the two areas.

The following data is listed in order of infection rate and organised as follows - Neighbourhood: number of infections; change from previous seven days (percentage change); infection rate, which is the number of infections per every 100,000 residents.

Burton Central: 55 cases; drop of eight (12.7 per cent); rate of 451.4

Burton Eton Park: 10 cases; drop of 10 (50 per cent); rate of 132.6

Burton Horninglow: 40 cases; drop of seven (14.9 per cent); rate of 437.1

Burton Shobnall: 24 cases; drop of 16 (40 per cent); rate of 287.2

Burton Stapenhill: 22 cases; drop of 10 (31.2 per cent); rate of 276

Burton Brizlincote: 14 cases; drop of nine (39.1 per cent); rate of 274.9

Burton Winshill: 26 cases; drop of 15 (36.6 per cent); rate of 302.6

Branston: 33 cases; drop of 19 (36.5 per cent); rate of 421

Barton under Needwood: 15 cases; drop of 11 (42.3); rate of 250.1

Rolleston and Tutbury: 30 cases; drop of 14 (31.8 per cent); rate of 312.3

Abbots Bromley, Yoxall and Marchington: 28 cases; drop of two (6.7 per cent); rate of 321
