Coronation Street actor Maximus Evans has hinted that his villainous character Corey Brent could be sticking around the cobbles for a "long time" despite his brutal attack on Seb Franklin.
Corey and his gang of friends launched a vicious attack on Nina Lucas and her boyfriend Seb, landing them both in hospital.
However, Seb tragically died in hospital while Nina suffered memory loss from the incident.
Speaking to the Mirror and other news outlets, Maximus spoke about what the future held for Corey following the incident.
"With a character like Corey, I think it would be interesting if he was around for a while so that the viewers," he said. "Especially so the younger ones can witness the brutality of the story and how these devils are walking among us, looking exactly like us.
"But yeah, I hope that he gets his comeuppance, as does everybody. I'm definitely the most hated man in Manchester at the moment!"
Maximus also revealed that he auditioned for the role of Seb five years, ago.
Opening up about his journey to the cobbles: "It's actually very full-circle. I auditioned for Corrie a couple of times throughout the years and I actually got very close to playing Seb when that role first came up.
"So yeah, so I actually screen-tested for Seb when that first came up and I was saying this before to Harry [Visinoni, who played Seb] that it's quite funny that it's really full circle now. But it was around two years ago when I had the audition for Corey.
"At first I didn't really know how to think about it because it was in high school - I wasn't really a student at the time but because the student was younger, and I am quite tall, I'm 6'1, I thought I might look a bit silly in a school uniform.
"But it has been nice to get that role and use that childhood innocence of the character and use my experience throughout education in high school."
