Coronation Street actress Samia Longchambon let slip a wedding spoiler as she appeared on This Morning.

The actress who plays Maria Connor confirmed that her character and Gary Windass will exchange vows and rings in an upcoming storyline.

Samia discussed the scenes while chatting to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about the lengths the ITV show is going to keep cast and crew safe.

While Eamonn pointed out that it's already known that Maria does walk down the aisle, the actress gave away more details about the big day.

Gary and Maria

She said: "It was quite tricky and we're just hoping our lovely viewers will cut us a bit of a slack.

"Even though obviously Maria and Gary live together, me and Mikey don't, so we still had to keep two metres apart.

"Actually saying our vows, we're two metres apart.

"Even putting the rings on we had to do it really cleverly with the cameras.

"The director was brilliant so hopefully it's been masked well and it won't look like we're so far apart."

Maria and Gary on their wedding day

On Monday both the bride and groom end up late for the wedding.

Having witnessed the closeness between Sarah and Gary, David Platt tells Gary he needs to make a decision about whether he loves Sarah or Maria.

Meanwhile Sarah has to decide whether she still has feelings for Gary or wants to try and make her marriage to Adam work.

Maria is set to wed Gary, unaware that he murdered his former loan shark boss Rick Neelan and buried his body in the woods.

Events have become more complicated since his ex Sarah Platt realised the truth, and he confessed he's still carrying a torch for her. He told her he killed Rick in order to protect her.

A horrified Sarah ran away from him after he confessed the chilling truth and he was struck by a car as he chased her.

To make matters worse, newlywed Sarah's husband Adam Barlow is on Gary's case.

He suspects his wife is covering for him, especially since he found out she called 999 before dashing out in the road to escape from him.
