Geoff Metcalfe was feared dead after his blood was found on tonight's Coronation Street.
Terrified Yasmeen Nazir finally stood up to her snarling husband and insisted she was leaving after admitting she felt scared.
But the twisted pensioner told his wife he was considering suicide in another sick twist before a gruesome discovery.
Yasmeen fled to see Alya to reveal she was coming to her grandson's wedding, but was horrified to see 42 text messages from her desperate husband.
In the texts, Geoff claimed he was feeling numb, blamed Yasmeen for messing with his head, then added: "Don’t be surprised if I’m dead when you get home."
Worried Yasmeen feared Geoff was going to take his own life and went back to check on her husband with Alya - despite her concerns.
Back at No.6, the pair were shell-shocked after finding a smashed photo frame on the table together with drops of blood.
Alya pointed out he has anger issues and probably smashed the frame after Yasmeen walked out.
With no sign of Geoff, concerned Yasmeen frantically tried to call her husband with no response.
But the disgusting reality soon became clear as Geoff was seen watching Yasmeen panicking through his secret spycam.
Evil Geoff casually sipped on a pint with a bandage on his finger as he revelled in his latest nasty scheme.
Taking to Twitter, one Corrie viewer said: "Nobody gets my blood boiling like Geoff always shouting at the tele at him like he can hear"
"THIS IS SO INFURIATING!! I don’t think I’ve hated a soap character more than Geoff," added another.
A third said: "Geoff is pure unadulterated evil."
"I think I speak for the entire world when I say I hope Geoff chokes on his pint," said a fourth.
This came after Friday night's cliffhanger ending had viewers fearing for Yasmeen's safety.
After discovering her twisted husband had lied about booking a hotel in Spain and had been paying for escorts, Yasmeen decided to leave to be with her family.
Yasmeen said: "I'm not asking your permission. I'm going to my grandson's wedding and there’s nothing you can do to stop me."
Corrie viewers were ecstatic when Yasmeen stood up to the sick pensioner - but they were brought crashing down to earth when he stopped her leaving.
As she closed her suitcase and headed for the door, evil Geoff put out an arm and blocked her way.
He menacingly said: "You’re not going anywhere."
