Manchester actor Jack James Ryan's character is causing a stir on the Coronation Street cobbles.
Troublesome character Jacob Hay is part of a gang who are running drugs under the cover of food deliveries and he recently roped in vulnerable Simon Barlow.
Jacob graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 2018 and has appeared in TV shows including Casualty, Emmerdale and Doctors.
Jack's character will be around in Weatherfield for a few months as Jacob as part of the harrowing county lines storyline, and he's not the only talented actor in his family.
His big sister is Rebecca Ryan, who played Debbie Gallagher in the gritty Manchester-based Channel Four comedy-drama Shameless from 2004 to 2009.
She began playing the role from the age of 11.
And from 2009 to 2011 she played pupil Vicki MacDonald in the Rochdale-based BBC One school-based drama Waterloo Road.
Rebecca also played hospital porter Gemma Dean in the BBC medical drama Casualty from 2017 to 2019.
The actress was bursting with pride over her 'superstar' younger brother's Corrie debut last month.
"Unbelievably proud of my extremely talented little brother who is joining the cast of @itvcorrie," she tweeted.
"Can't wait to tune in on Monday to see him shine bright!! Well done Jacky man! Love you xx"
And she messaged: "Aghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! So proud of you Jacky Man!! Can't wait to watch you do your thing on the cobbles!! What a superstar."
Jack is also skilled at fencing, horse-riding and football.
And he can sing, play the guitar and dance.
He Instagrammed about his arrival on Corrie: "Incredibly proud to finally announce I’ll be joining the cast of Coronation Street.
"I honestly don’t know how I’ve been able to keep quiet about this for the past few months.
"Being a proper born and bred Mancunian, I can’t quite articulate what it means to me to be a part of this show.
"I’ve grown up watching Corrie and always hoped that one day I’d be able to step on those cobbles myself.
"Can’t wait for you guys to meet ‘Jacob Hay’ and see what he gets up to in Weatherfield."
Marking his first day on set on social media, he wrote: "Man is on the cobbles.
"This picture was taken on my first day of filming and as you can see I was completely shook to be there and I’m still pinching myself tbh.
"So excited to see what you guys think!!"
