ONLY 2,000 frontline NHS England staff have been tested for coronavirus, Downing Street have confirmed.
Around 1.2million people work for NHS England in total.
This comes after the coronavirus death toll in the UK hit 1,829 after infections rapidly increased to over 25,000.
Two apparently healthy teens from London are amongst those who have died.
Schoolboy Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab, of Brixton, South London was confirmed as the UK's youngest victim and had no underlying health conditions.
Ismail, 13, started showing symptoms and had trouble breathing on Thursday so was rushed to hospital.
Relatives said he tested positive the following day and was put on a ventilator then into an induced coma but died in the early hours of Monday.
The boy's family said he passed away without his mum or six siblings by his side due to the contagiousness of the disease.
