Lancashire saw the smallest increase in confirmed new coronavirus cases for some weeks in new figures released today (June 3) by Public Health England.

A total of nine new cases were confirmed across Lancashire in the last 24 hours - down from 21 yesterday.

Blackburn with Darwen and Preston recorded the most new cases with two while four other areas saw their total increase by one.

There were no new cases reported in Burnley, Chorley, Hyndburn, Pendle Ribble Valley and South Ribble.

The number of cases in Blackpool also dropped by one, possible due to a resulting error.

There are now 4,705 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Lancashire as a whole, but it is highly likely that cases where no symptoms have been shown are not included in this figure due to limited testing being done.
