Coronation Street fans were reeling by the latest tragedy to rock Weatherfield favourite Roy Cropper.
In Wednesday's double Corrie, Roy's half brother Richard Lucas died suddenly at home after the carer he was waiting for failed to show up.
Roy is now being blamed for the tragedy by Richard's niece because he left him at home to tend to an emergency at work, keeping in touch with his half brother on the phone.
Viewers are sympathising with Roy because he had only just found his sibling months after his mother Sylvia passed away, and in 2014 his wife Hayley took her own life after battling cancer.
"Oh, Richard," tweeted one upset viewer.
"Oh noo poor man," said another.
"What a sad story, Roy will be wracked with guilt," said another fan.
"Devastated, I loved Richard. I wish he wasn’t on his own when he passed," tweeted another.
Last month Coronation Street viewers found out that Roy, played by David Neilson, had been doing some more digging into his mother’s secret life and unearthed evidence of a son she had during an affair.
When he tracked down Richard Lucas, played by Paul Bown, he was surprised to find he has a teenage daughter Nina played by Mollie Gallagher.
Another viewer pointed out: "Ohh gosh Roy Cropper can’t lose his brother already...only just found him."
"Poor Roy, he's already lost Hayley and his mom and now Richard. He's totally gonna blame himself for leaving him ain't he sadly?"
Before Richard died cafe owner Roy called at his home and packed Nina off to college, promising to wait in for his new carer.
But Aggie Bailey called to tell her boss that the cafe freezer was leaking and Richard, who had the lung condition pulmonary fibrosis, insisted that he would be fine.
Assuring Roy he was fine, Richard lost his balance and fell. And when Roy finally returned to the flat he found him passed out on the floor.
A shaken Nina arrived home in time to hear him pronounced dead by paramedics.
Roy insisted that she came home with him, but she was furious to learn from his friend Carla Connor that her dad had been alone when he died.
