CONOR McGREGOR had fans predicting he will become the new UFC welterweight champion after he showed off his bulked up body online.
The 31-year-old Irishman has been out the Octagon since January when he beat Donald Cerrone at welterweight in just 40 seconds - his first win in three years.
McGregor had promised to fight three times this year, though the coronavirus pandemic appears to have put a halt to the former featherweight and lightweight champion's momentum.
But with travel now permitted to the US, UFC boss Dana White has revealed the southpaw is open to competing on 'Fight Island' which is due to debut on June 17.
And fans have claimed McGregor is planning to stay welterweight with his latest Instagram post a signal that he will remain beefed up.
One said: "Damn. 170lb champ soon."
Another said: "The Machine."
One commented: "Triple champ champ champ."
Another commented: "Proper 170."
McGregor looked to be on course to rematch lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov.
But after the Russian was unable to defend his title amid the virus, Justin Gaethje stepped in on late notice at UFC 249 to beat Tony Ferguson for the interim belt.
Now the pair are set to unify the titles in September, leaving McGregor frozen out of the lightweight picture until he can face the winner.
The Dubliner was then offered a title shot by welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and was even called out by middleweight legend Anderson Silva.
But promoter White has urged McGregor to stay patient and focus on the lightweight division.

Speaking on Eddie Hearn & Tony Bellew's Talk The Talk podcast, White said: "I think the best thing for him, I'm not saying this is what's going to happen, but in my opinion, he lets this Gaethje-Khabib fight play out and he fights the winner.
"I think that's the smartest move for him. But, you know him, maybe he wants to fight before that and if he does, we can figure something out.
"I think that is the move for him right now."
