Police searching for a missing Scots man have found his car close to a loch.

Kenneth Watson was reported missing from Beith in North Ayrshire, with the 62-year-old last seen at his home on Beech Road at around 9.30pm on Tuesday November 30.

A major search was launched by police, and Kenneth's car has since been found three and a half miles away near to Lochlip Road, Lochwinnoch in neighbouring Renfrewshire.

Police are becoming 'increasingly concerned' for Kenneth's welfare and believe he may have driven himself to the village.

He is described as six foot, one inch tall and of slim build, with grey balding hair.

When last seen he was wearing a checked shirt, a blue fleece and blue tracksuit bottoms.

Sergeant Allan Glass said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Kenneth’s welfare and our enquiries so far suggest that he may have driven to the Lochwinnoch area where his car has been traced.

“If anyone has seen Kenneth or knows where he is then please get in touch via 101, quoting incident number 3527 of Wednesday, December 1."
